Quickstart

1. Install#

macOS / Linux / WSL

Prefer a window? Grab the desktop app for macOS, Windows or Linux from the Download page. It bundles Chat and Code with the same login.

2. Sign in#

Run faelith inside a repository. The onboarding wizard offers two ways in:

• Browser login (device flow) — the CLI shows a short code, opens faelithindustries.com/cli/login, and you approve it while signed in. The CLI receives a scoped key automatically.
• Paste an API key — create one under Dashboard → API Keys and paste it. Use purpose code for the CLI and app.

/logout signs out and brings you back to this screen.

The same two options appear on the desktop app's first-run screen.

3. Run a task#

> Add a --json flag to the export command and cover it with a test.

Code reads the relevant files, proposes edits, runs the tests, and shows you a diff. Approve, refine, or ask for a plan first with /plan.

4. Pick a model and effort#

Or click the model and mode pickers in the composer. Echo is fast and balanced; Horizon reasons deeper. See Echo and Horizon.
