Desktop and Web
Desktop app
Faelith for macOS, Windows and Linux: Chat, Code, Plan tab and multi-pane sessions.
The desktop app packages Chat and Code in one window with the same login as the CLI. Download it from the Download page; installers are published for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows (.msi and setup .exe) and Linux (.AppImage, .deb, .rpm).
First run#
The onboarding screen offers Continue in browser (device flow) or Paste an API key. Log out returns to this screen; the app is unusable without a valid key by design.
Chat#
A general assistant with web search, page fetch, image and file attachments, temporary chats and forkable threads. Effort and model are chosen per conversation.
Code#
Each Code pane is a full agent session bound to a workspace:
- Changed — the diff of every file touched this session, with per-file revert.
- Plan — appears in Plan mode; rendered plan, inline comments, Build and Build in parallel.
- Files and Terminal — browse the workspace and run commands.
Multi-pane sessions#
Drag New session onto the canvas to split the view into up to four panes. Every pane picks its own workspace (even a different project), has its own model, mode and permission state, and streams independently. The sidebar and the right panel follow the focused pane.
Subagents#
When the agent delegates work, the row shows a subagent indicator. Click it to open the subagent's full transcript in a modal.
Sidebar and attachments#
Projects and Recents list your sessions (Chat shows threads). Right-click a project to Remove from sidebar; it comes back when it gets new activity. Drag any conversation from the sidebar into the composer to attach its transcript as context.
Limits and usage#
The line under the composer shows your 5h and weekly usage, in both Chat and Code. Settings → Plan & Usage shows the meters, usage-based billing and usage resets.
Settings#
Model defaults, thinking per family, permission default mode, MCP servers and appearance live under Settings. Project-level settings in .faelith/settings.json take precedence. Skills, agents, hooks and plugins work exactly as in the CLI; see Customize.
